Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 6

Where could they be?

“Where could they be?” I said to myself. I had been looking for anybody in my family for 5 hours and I can’t find a single one of them. If they had gone to the store they would have been home by now. I’m stating to get really scared and afraid about where my family and the puppies have gone. I wish that I had some other family living in town so I could go and talk to them about my family missing. Wait a minute; I just remembered that my grandparents live in town. Just down the street from Wal-Mart and Albertson’s actually. They’ll know what to do about this problem. I just hope that I don’t get in to any trouble on the way to their house. Their house is in Syracuse by Syracuse Junior High and Syracuse Elementary School. So their house isn’t that hard to find, really. I wish I had a house like theirs its so nice and so beautiful inside. It’s like a picture from a dream. It’s just so beautiful it’s almost like you picture it in your head and then “POOF!”Its there all of a sudden. Its like a picture out of a magazine and it looks so awesome that sometimes I wish I had a picture of a house like that and just like that its there. And then it blows your breath away and you can’t believe that it’s actually in front of you right then and now its amazing how that happens and you’re not expecting it. Well I guess I better go on a walk to grandma’s house. See you guys in a while.

Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 5

What’s this?

What’s this I said to myself when I opened the front door that morning on my way to school? On my way out the door I found a box of puppies on the first step of the front porch and I told mom about them and she said we could keep them if we promised to take good care of them. We promised we would take good care of them and named them right away. There names were: Buttercup, Anastasia, Rosie, and little Joey. We all loved our new pets very much, but there were more than 4 puppies so we took the rest of the puppies to the pet shop where we where sure they would find a perfect family. We went home that afternoon and could not wait to see our puppies. We rushed through the door and went to the kitchen right away. And there they were so tiny in a giant bed. All of them where laying together and were fast asleep.
We were doing our homework and we heard a noise coming from the puppy’s basket. I went over to check on them and when I bent over to see them I said”Hey you guys, come over here. The puppies are awake now”. They all came running over to look at the puppies. They huddled around the basket and after I made sure everyone was here I went to bend down next to the basket I could not see a thing. While I was making sure everyone was here I had forgotten to ask if they could save a spot for me. Now I cold not see the puppies at all. I tried to ask people to move but no one would listen to me so I went to my room and sat there waiting for someone to come and get me. I waited longer and I was getting sleepy. I went to sleep and after I had slept for a while I woke up and got out of bed and went to the kitchen and no one was there and neither were the puppies. “Where is every one?” I asked myself. I searched the whole house, but I couldn’t find anyone. “Where have they gone,” I asked myself. “Where could they be?”

Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 4

Spring is here

Finally spring is here but something’s missing. It feels almost like apart of the world is missing. Maybe it feels like it’s missing because spring is the season of new birth. That means baby animals are born and new things happen. It’s almost as though the world is changing in its own special way. It feels like the world is trying to say something and we listen to it and try to make this a better home for everyone and everything. That’s how I feel about spring. I am trying to go to sleep but something is bugging me and I don’t know what to do. It’s Roscoe’s birthday in a few months and I don’t know what to give him. He says he wants to be a cowboy for his birthday like Woody from toy story and I still don’t know what to give him. I’m worried I won’t have a gift in time for his birthday. I can’t believe he’s going to be 5. It’s amazing how fast they grow up. I wish I would grow faster so I would not be the smallest anymore. Then I cold do more stuff like: Go to Lagoon and ride on bigger rides and I would be able to do lots more stuff to besides that. It would be the best day I have ever had. I would be able to do so much more than I could before and might be able to have a friend party this year for my birthday this year, it would be so much fun.
Today we went to the store while dad and Roscoe went to the movies to see Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen, so we could get Roscoe’s birthday presents. Roscoe said the movie was good and he wishes he could see it over and over again. He doesn’t know that he’s getting it for his birthday plus a cowboy hat and a cowboy gun and a cowboy outfit. I wish I had everything that he had so we could share everything we have and will have sooner or later.

Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 3

Home at last

We’re finally home from our busy day out side of the house and very tired. We have been out side for at least 3 hours and are going to get a good night rest for the morning. In the morning we are going to go sledding and after words we are going to get hot chocolate. “Good night” I say to Loona. I wonder what is in store for us.
“Good morning Loona” I say the next morning. “Are you exited to go sledding today, Loona” I ask. I wonder if mom and dad are actually going to take us to Ogden, I ask myself. We know the best place in Ogden to go sledding at. Every year we go to this Golf Course down by Dinosaur Park and we go down really big hills on tubes and sleds. One year we went to a sledding hill behind Roy High, and Michaela asked for a push and my dad pushed her and my uncle kicked the sled. She turned around on the sled after she went off a jump and hit her head really hard on a brick wall because she couldn’t see where she was going. The next day at school she hit her head in the same spot because she fell off the lunch table. Well back to the story now. So we went sledding and after that we got hot chocolate. We had so much fun sledding that my parents said we could make our own hill of snow and make an igloo if we wanted to. Right now it is almost spring so the snow is starting to melt and the flowers are starting to bloom. I can’t believe winter is almost over and it’s almost spring.

Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 2

Loona!!!

What’s that noise? I ask myself. It sounds like screaming almost. No one screams like that unless they’re choking. Maybe, Loona!!! I get up and run to Loona’s room. As soon as I get there I rush to Loona’s bed and pull off her sling, hoping it might help. I stay in her room all night hoping that I might hear Loona’s voice again. I am soon awaken by a slight push. I open my eyes and see Loona sitting in front of me. “Loona!!!” I said as I got up. I had forgotten I fell asleep in Loona’s room. I nestle Loona in my arms and carry her down the stairs and into the family room.

For breakfast we had Loona’s favorite, banana nut muffins and orange juice. After breakfast we went to the park and did Loona’s favorite thing, the MONKEY bars and she did them very well even though her arm still hurt. When we got home from the park we had Loona’s favorite lunch, peanut butter and banana sandwiches. For a dink we had apple juice or milk. After lunch it is time for naps.

Loona was so worn out that she fell asleep as soon as mom had laid her down and soon so did I. When we woke up from our naps mom gave us a snack. After we were finished with our snacks mom told us that we were going to go to the ice cream store. Loona and I were so happy when we heard that we were going to the ice cream store. Why we are always so happy to go is because my dad works there.

After we got ready we all got in the car and drove to the ice cream store and were going to see my dad. When we got there dad was so glad to see us. Last night the person who used to do the ice cream at the counter had gotten fired. So, now my dad worked at the counter. As soon as we got there he came out and swooped me and Loona into his arms and gave us a huge hug, then he put us down and gave mom a hug to.

Once Upon a Christmas Tree - Chapter 1

Surprises, or Not

Today my family went and got a Christmas tree.
It’s puny and small, but it will go to the roof of our little cottage. I have a very good family though. In my family I have a mother, a father, two sisters, and a brother. And then there is me.
Your probably wondering who exactly I am. I am Paula Jane Smith a 3 year old daughter of Amy and Michael Smith. My two sisters names are Michaela, who’s 10, and Abby, who’s 7. My brother’s name is Roscoe who’s almost 5. Oh, we can’t forget my pet monkey Loona who’s almost 10.
One day while I was reading my book, Loona was in her room swinging on her vine, and then I heard something go “SMASH!” I get up and go to Loona’s room as fast as I can and what I saw before me could have been the worst thing I had ever seen. When I had heard the smash Loona had fallen off of her vine and hit one of her pots of jungle flowers. Michaela had heard the noise also and came running down the hall to see what had happened. Luckily, Loona wasn’t hurt to bad. We think she had broken her left arm though.
Since Loona does everything with her right arm we think she’ll be all right. When we went to the vet’s office at first Loona was a little afraid, and then we saw our friend Alexa with her cat Rusty. When we finally got in to see the vet and we did the shots and x-ray, she had a little bit of trouble ( since its her first time going to the vets).
After we were done with the x-rays and shots, Loona got a sling. The doctor said that she would have to have the sling for almost a month. It was a week or so before Christmas.
That night I had problems sleeping. I dreamt that Loona was going to choke and maybe die because of her sling.
